If you asked Miku what her relationship to her many sisters was, she would give a generally positive response. With a few exceptions, she genuinely loved her sisters with all her heart.

She did, however, concede to the point that they could be quite a handful. Especially when they were all in one place...

The twin-tailed Vocaloid dropped into a perfect split as an errant blast of electricity sailed overhead, accompanied by an impassioned "C'MON AND TRY ME BITCH!"

Miku heaved a long-suffering sigh as Neru's powers of electricity clashed violently with Zatsune's darkness, cheered on by their respective siblings. Zumi came up beside her like a white-clad, adorably earnest ninja. "You wanna deal with this or should I?" She asked quietly in her squeaky voice.

Miku waved a hand. "You go ahead, I need to make sure Master doesn't have a stroke."

Zumi only nodded before flicking her wrists, dropping two small objects into her hands, before crouching right down and leaping high into the air over the combatants with a lazy half-twist. "Here it comes..."

"Sukuiku geijutsu: Mausu no shuchu hoka!"

A rain of mouse constructs rained down on the two girls, exploding on impact and knocking them flat on their duffs. Zumi flipped over and pointed at the floor.

"Chizusaino: Suisu no baunsu!"

A large and springy block of cheese materialised in a poof of smoke beneath the mouse Hatsune, and she bounced on it a couple of times before dispelling it and with a small smile. "We need to be set up by 7, remember?" The two on the ground grumbled their assent, before stalking off to prepare themselves.

~~~~(Obligatory superpower headcanon over, we now return you to your regular christmas programming)~~~~
The Shion family Christmas was a team effort, and things were no different for the Hatsune clan. Roasted leeks were standard, but everyone pitched in to make other things as well.
Aku was sitting in seiza on the floor of the large cooking area, her concentration on the high-intensity flames that the rest of the family was using for cooking. Mete was darting between the siblings, relaying orders to turn the heat up, down or off, as well as handing out water bottles wherever she went.
Ureshii, Nara and Modora were supervising a pair of fondue pots, one filled with cheese and the other with chocolate. Nara looked up from her phone, currently displaying a fondue guide, to check the thermometers they had stuck in the pots. "According to this, the fondue has to be kept at a constant temperature. Too hot and it'll burn the stuff, too cold and it won't have the right consistency." Modora swished a serving spoon around in the chocolate pot. "I don't think this has all melted yet, but it's close." Ureshii nodded from her cheese pot. "Same here."
When Kiku had asked to help, the Hatsune Master had taken one look at her face and shoved her behind a cutting board for ingredient prep. She was a steel-edged whirlwind, chopping, dicing, filleting and julienning ingredients almost before they were put in front of her.
Everyone else was slaving away at various cooking pots throughout the room. The family was the picture of productivity, and Max felt a surge of pride as he stepped back from an oven to watch his Hatsunes work.
This was why he put up with this, year after year. To see the family come together.
                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(HEARTWARMING)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After the food was prepared, they set the table. Unlike the Shion family, setting the table did not require a piece of expensive technology. It did, however, involve a bit of acrobatics.

Hagane and Neru, once they had been sufficiently blackmailed and coerced into helping, went into extended baseball slides down the length of the table, dragging the good tablecloth behind them.

Modora and Ureshii went cartwheeling down the table, with Zumi and Zatsune tossing cutlery into their hands as they went.

Once that was done, Naru started flicking plates and cutting boards onto the table to house the dishes and the pots, pans and trays they would be served on.

Miku was checking things off on a list as the rest of the family started to bring the dishes out. "Okay, that's done, that's done, that's done, we should be all set!"

Right on cue, the doors were flung open by a bombastic Akaito Shion. "BOOM, LOOK WHO STEPPED IN THE ROOM!" A herd of Shion flowed easily into the Hatsune mansion with the Shion Master somewhere in the middle. She stepped out of the crowd and high-fived the Hatsune Master as she passed him, then they all converged on the table, talking and laughing.

At the head of the table, the two Masters sat together a moment, smiling at their extended family. "This is my favourite part of the holiday," The Shion Master said quietly. "Seeing everyone come together as a family." The Hatsune Master nodded in agreement. "Yeah, me too. Now are we going to eat something, or are we gonna let them hog it all?" The Shion Master laughed and flagged down the ham.

And the Christmas Feast was enjoyed by all.

Even Hagane, though she would never admit it.
Three days and a whole lot of shitty work later, and BOOM! Christmas fic! This one doubles as a Pay it Forward promise to BloodyVocaloid and a pledge to MaxGomora1247 a year in the making!

Hey, Rowan. I know it's been a while since this was written and I never got to tell you my thoughts, but here we go.

First off, I just want to let you know if you didn't know that after some thinking and some tallking with :iconbloodyvocaloid:, that I will bring Ask-thehatsunefamily back. Just a heads up. Now onto the review.

I gotta say this was a.... a bit short. Most of it seemed to center on the family preparing the dinner. I kinda wish we got more detail on the dinner itself and maybe have some interactions afterwards. I was also expecting it to be slightly more chaotic, but at the same time, with it being a christmas fic, it gave the impression that Christmas is the time that brings us together.

LOVED the beginning where Zumi just OWNS Zatsune and Neru. In fact, that gives me a new head-canon for Zumi: Despite being shy, she's really good at handling family dilemas!

Also, the part of Kiku chopping the vegetables was great. Just the idea of her going all Tasmanian Devil with those natas is too much.

All in short, it was short, but sweet.
